BNTAC gives feedback on the regulations for the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021

BNTAC along with other PBCs received an invitation to attend a two day ‘co-design’ workshop to give input on some of the regulations that will guide how the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (ACH) Act 2021 will operate.

The new cultural heritage legislation was passed by parliament in December 2021, and WA is currently in a 'transitional phase' operating between some elements of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, and the ACH Act 2021.

BNTAC chose to participate to offer input and present the challenges that PBCs, knowledge holders and communities will have to manage with what has been designed.
