Appointment of Ed Armstrong as Chief Executive Officer BNTAC

Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (ICN 7971) (BNTAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ed Armstrong as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Armstrong has more than 20 years’ of senior executive experience in the indigenous, public, and private sectors and across a diverse range of commercial, financial, and operational activities.

He joins BNTAC from the position of Chief Executive Officer, South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC) where he was responsible for the successful implementation of the largest and most comprehensive Native Title Settlement in Australian history, valued at $1.3 billion.

As a values-based and result-driven leader, Mr Armstrong is skilled in strategic planning, performance improvement, change management and driving economic development.

Passionate about the protection of Aboriginal Cultural and Heritage, Mr Armstrong was a key stakeholder in developing and delivering the protect Aboriginal Culture and Heritage campaign that strongly advocated against the WA Government's new Cultural Heritage Act.

Mr Armstrong believes in building strong relationships with the community, is a member of the National Native Title Council (NNTC)and has effective working relationships across the sector that includes National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), ORIC, State Government agencies, and large Trustees.

As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course (AICD) and qualified with a Master of Business Administration, Mr Armstrong is skilled in corporate governance, and financial and human resource management.

Commenting on Mr Armstrong’s new appointment, BNTAC Chairperson Paula White said “The BNTAC board are very excited to have secured Ed Armstrong as the Corporation’s new CEO and are looking forward to working closely with him in delivering results for the BNTAC members, and in safeguarding the Corporation’s Native Title interests”.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Armstrong, said “This is an exciting opportunity and a privilege to be appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of BNTAC. I look forward to working with the Banjima community and the Board to deliver on the BNTAC strategic plan and vision.
